The recent workshop led by Sergio at Makers of Barcelona (MOB) delivered a clear premise: successful businesses don't just use AI; they architect it to transform it into an engine for autonomous growth.
The Three-Stage Evolution: From User to Architect
The path toward technological maturity is not linear, but a structural evolution that Sergio divides into three critical levels:
- Standard Level: Characterized by manual tool usage and disconnected apps with low connectivity between them.
- Expert Level: Where basic integrations, the use of APIs, and partial workflow automation are introduced.
- Professional Level: The ultimate goal, where a self-operating "Company Brain" is designed, featuring total connectivity and private instances to protect the most valuable asset: data.
To advance on this path, it is essential to understand the selection logic of Large Language Models (LLMs). They are not one-size-fits-all: while ChatGPT is positioned as the ideal "logic engine" for complex reasoning and code, Claude stands out as the "writer" due to its unparalleled nuance in brand voice, and Gemini establishes itself as the "researcher" for processing massive datasets.
Sales Architecture and the Central Nervous System
The true power of AI manifests when tools stop being silos. In the sales area, Sergio proposed a lead generation stack that combines data extraction with Apify, personalized enrichment via Clay, and pipeline management in GoHighLevel (GHL). This structure allows, for example, the generation of 500 personalized opening lines in just 60 seconds after analyzing the prospects' LinkedIn activity.
The key is not the technology itself, but clarity regarding one's own process. "The real skill is seeing your own process clearly enough to draw it on a napkin," May noted during the talk.
A vital point of debate was the distinction between text chatbots and autonomous voice agents. The former are ideal for lead capture and FAQs at the top of the funnel due to their low-pressure nature. However, for closing sales and booking appointments, hyper-realistic voice agents (using the Vapi + ElevenLabs stack) offer superior empathy, provided latency remains below 500ms to avoid breaking the human conversational flow.
To orchestrate this ecosystem, n8n emerges as the "Central Nervous System." This automation tool allows for the connection of marketing (Freepik, LLMs) with sales (GHL, voice agents), creating an engine that operates independently and coherently.

Security and the Future of Local Models
As the "Company Brain" feeds on sensitive data, internal processes, and historical SOPs, security becomes paramount. Sergio emphasized that there is a threshold where public clouds are no longer secure for handling critical intellectual property. The professional solution lies in scaling toward open-source models installed locally on high-performance VPS servers.
This transition not only ensures total privacy control but also offers significant long-term cost efficiency compared to the massive scaling of commercial APIs.
The DMK Tribe Community Perspective
During the session at MOB, the collective intelligence of the community reached a fundamental conclusion: automation does not seek to replace humans, but to "automate the robotic so that humans can finally be human again."
Attendees agreed that the greatest challenge is not technical, but strategic: learning to use the "Strategic Compass" to decide when to buy a closed solution and when it is necessary to build a proprietary architecture.
Sergio’s workshop highlighted that AI mastery is not about mastering the latest trendy app, but about understanding the logic of connectivity and data sovereignty. Building a "Company Brain" allows teams to be freed from heavy administrative work, enabling them to focus on strategy and the human touch that no machine can replicate. In a world saturated with tools, the systems architect will always outperform the simple tool-user.
