Shein officially opened a new hub on Carrer Entença in Barcelona in March 2026, adding the city to its international network of more than 40 offices. According to the company's announcement, reported by Europa Press, idealista/news and several retail trade titles, it is Shein's second office in Spain after Madrid, and it has no logistics or retail function: the work is branding, marketing and content.
Eight people, all women, average age 35
The current team is made up of eight professionals, a number the company expects to grow in the coming years. They work on branding, marketing and content, with a focus on local trends and consumer analysis. Shein describes the team as young, multicultural and 100% female, with an average age of 35, mixing experience at large international groups with backgrounds at emerging local brands.
With Madrid, Shein now employs around 20 people in Spain.
A base for Nöista
Part of the Barcelona team's job is to support Shein's own brands, including Nöista, launched in February 2025. The brand has a Mediterranean style and targets women aged 22 to 35, in Spain and internationally. From Barcelona the team works with international colleagues on Nöista's marketing and branding and on the production of campaigns and visual content shot in Spanish locations such as Tamariu, Calella de Palafrugell and Tarragona.
"Barcelona brings together the ideal conditions to keep advancing our mission," said Vorada Hiransomboon, Shein's branding director, pointing to the city's dynamism, multicultural talent and international outlook (translated from Spanish). Hiransomboon said the company wants to be an active part of the Catalan and Spanish business and creative ecosystem, creating jobs directly and working with professionals and partners across the sector.
Who was in the room
The opening was attended by Marta Angerri Feu, director general of Commerce at the Generalitat de Catalunya's Department of Business and Labour, Benet Maimí, director of Institutional Relations at Foment del Treball, and Míriam Victoria, president of Moda Catalunya i Balears, who opened the event. "Fashion is going through a deep transformation driven by digitalisation, internationalisation and new consumer habits," Victoria said (translated from Spanish), adding that global companies strengthening their presence in Barcelona helps position the city as a hub of talent, creativity and innovation for the fashion industry.
On the commercial side, Shein says it works with more than 1,000 active sellers on its marketplace in Spain. The opening also comes, as Revista Centros Comerciales noted, at a time of greater regulatory pressure on the company in Europe, where it faces investigations related to transparency, how its platform works and the sale of illegal products.
